The Initial Exam

We are very thorough on our inital exam and besides working up a patient history we will screen for oral cancer, gum disease, cavities or decay, and also check for TMJ pain or jaw joint dysfunction. The observations of these very experienced health care providers about your dental condition is integrated into your treatment plan.

We believe that prevention is a much healthier and cost effective option that trying to fix something later. We encourage our patients to establish a regular routine of hygiene visits, typically every 6 months. On your initial cleaning apointments we may use an ultrasonic scaler or root planing instruments to give you a thorough and effective cleaning, and use the Cavitron to detect any hidden decay.

We have excellent topical anesthetics that if needed, will keep you comfortable during these treatments. Once we have established a healthy environment for your teeth, we will work hard to maintain it; protecting your healthy, natural tooth structure and your beautiful smile.
